Our training has begun in earnest. We have been spinning 2-3 times during each week and getting out every weekend day we can. This past Saturday we rode 47 miles to Vashon Island’s lighthouse and back from our Capitol Hill home. On Sunday, after volunteering for the Cascade Bike Club’s Chilly Hilly, at o’dark thirty in freezing temperatures, we joined the 36 mile ride. It lives up to his name, in spades, with 2600′ of elevation gain and a freezing wind chill factor.

We’d love to have you join us on any of our training rides. We’ve setup a spreadsheet of our distance goals and planned rides which we’ll update regularly. Please check it out and see if any of them interest you. We’re still building our base. Not all our dates have set destinations so  we’re open to suggestions.

Next weekend we’ll be riding from Seattle to Port Townsend, staying overnight and returning the next day. That’ll be two 50 mile days. We’re also signing up for several commercial rides including: Camano Climb, Inland Empire and May Day Metric if you want to join us on any of those. And we’re looking for someone to take a drive to Ocean Shores the first weekend in June so we can dip our tires in the Pacific and ride a century home to Seattle. Anyone want to join us on that one?
